A Hadith on the reward of a woman’s Salah individually

What is status of following Hadith?

“The reward of a woman’s Salah when performed individually [in her home] is twenty five times more rewarding than her performing it in congregation [of men]”

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration in Tarikh Asbahan.

(Tarikh Asbahan, vol. 2 pg. 19 Also see Musnadul Firdaws, Hadith: 3726)

The chain for this consists of an unknown narrator and a narrator whom Imam Abu Nu’aym and others have declared weak. ‘Allamah Munawi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith weak.

(At Taysir Sharhul Jami’is Saghir, vol. 2 pg. 99 and Al Mughir of Ahmad Siddiq Al Ghumari, vol. 4 pg. 251 [5092/2134])

There are numerous authentic narrations which explain that it is more virtuous for a woman to perform Salah in the inner portion of her home. Although these Hadiths do not specify a number, they do support the fact that a woman’s Salah is more virtuous in her home.

(Refer: Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 225-228)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
