Authenticity of the famous nashid ‘Tala’al badru ‘alayna’

Is it true that when Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) came to Madinah Munawwarah some women and young girls were singing

طَلَعَ الْبَدْرُ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ ثَنِيَّات الْوَدَاعِ وَجَبَ الشُّكْرُ عَلَيْنَا مَا دَعَا لِلَّهِ دَاعِ

Answer

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration with a broken chain, as pointed out by ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi and Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahumallah).

(Dalailun Nubuwwah, vol. 5 pg. 266, Al Fawaid of Khila’i, Hadith: 1194. Refer: Al Mughni ‘An Hamlil Asfar, Hadith: 2191 and Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3925, vol. 7 pg. 261)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
