The ruling on silver jewellery for men, rings, chains, bands etc.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa-TT.com
Question:

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله
What is the ruling on silver jewellery for men: wedding ring/band, chains, bracelet. .etc with the purpose of adornment?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is not permissible for a male to adorn himself with any type of jewellery, silver and gold, except a silver ring[1]. Titanium, platinum or any other metal will also be prohibited[2]. The weight allowed for the silver ring (excluding stone) cannot exceed 4.35 grams. The head of the ring may be from any type of stone.

Being a common misconception amongst males in our society, it must be noted carefully that the only jewellery permitted for men is a silver ring. Only rings made of silver are allowed for men, therefore bands, chains, bracelets etc. even if made from silver will be impermissible.
