Can a person offer salah at a part of the premises where Idols are sold?

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.ca

Question:

Can a person offer salah at a part of the premises where Idols are sold. Can Qur’an also be recited at the same place.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The concern will not be about the idols being sold there or not, rather these idols being in front of the musalli (person praying) while he is praying. Please review the previous answer on that issue at : http://fatwa.ca/salah/can-i-pray-salah-at-my-shop-in-pressence-of-mannequins/

However, it would be advisable to retain a specific place for salah, wherein one does not have to deal with these issues.

Recitation in these places is also permissible.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
