Nikah Without Being Married According To The Law

Question: Asalam walaikum,

I would like to find out if in Islam two people can get married without being married by their country’s law as in just the Nikkah would take place.

Answer: WaAlaikum As Salaam,

Yes, this is permissible. By doing a Nikah, both of you will be legally married in Islam.
