Fasting On Ashurah 1436 AH/2014

Question: Can I keep fast on 9.10,11 of Muharram? Is it Saturday, Sunday and Monday in Trinidad?

Answer: Assalamu Alaikum,

The 10^th of Muharram in Trinidad will be on Tuesday 4^th November 2014. Based on the guidelines of the Prophet (s.a.w), one may either fast on the 9^th and 10^th of Muharram or the 10^th and 11^th of Muharram. Hence, you may observe the fast on Monday 3^rd November and Tuesday 4^th November (which will be the 9^th and 10^th of Muharram) or Tuesday 4^th November and Wednesday 5^th November (which will be the 10^th and 11^th of Muharram).
