Would the wudhu be done if something is stuck on the skin

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Once I prayed Zuhar and Asar salat and before time of Magrib Salat I found out there is scale of fish stuck to my finger, this means my ablution was not valid as water has not reached to that part of my finger. In this case did I have to repeat my Zuhar and Asar salat or no need to repeat?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

One of the conditions for the validity of wudhu is that any substances which prevent the water from reaching the skin, such as dough, paint etc… then it will be incumbent to firstly remove the substance and wash underneath. (Nurul Idah p.31)

Regarding your question, if the scale of the fish prevented water from reaching the skin, then your wudhu will not be done, hence, any subsequent prayers thereafter will not be valid, thus repeating the salah will be obligatory.
