Question:

Assalamu alaikum

While walking on the streets or in public places, my hands or feet touch a man’s hands or feet. Now I do not feel any lust. But I do not know about the other person. I cannot go and ask him if he has experienced lust or not. Should I consider hurmat musahara to be established or not?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

Hurmatul Musaharah will be established by a person touching the other gender out of lust, without a thick barrier by which body heat cannot be felt.[1] We advise you to be careful whilst walking or interacting with the opposite gender, you should not consider hurmatul musaharah has taken place as that is based on doubt.[2]

Only Allah SWT knows best.
