Question

Is it permissible to try and stop the wind from passing during wudhu or prayer?

As in to prevent it?  Especially on certain occasions, I become gassy so I try to stop it from constantly coming out and I also get a lot of waswasa regarding this. I try to avoid it and but it gets the best of me.

Is what I’m doing wrong?

Do I need to repeat all my previous prayers of several months?

Answer:

If you have a lot of gas in your stomach then you are allowed to try to stop the wind from coming out as much as you can. Your wudhu will only break if you hear a sound or smell a bad odour. You do not need to repeat any of your salah as long as you did not hear a sound or smell a bad odour.
