Question:

Is it permissible to announce the request of Dua to be made on behalf of someone inside the masjid/during Jumah etc? E.g so and so is in their last stages of cancer everyone is requested to make Dua/ so and so’s relative has passed away in Bangladesh, make Dua etc

Ibaraats would be appreciated

Also, saying Salam to everyone before a bayan, is there any كراهية in this?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

It is not permissible for a person to send salutation upon the prophet or make dua loudly during khutbah. However, it is permissible if this is done in the heart. [Raddul Muhtar 1:606] Therefore, since it is permissible for people to make such a dua, it is also allowed to make an announcement concerning a request for a dua. This may be done during the khutbah or can be done after the completion of the prayer. Both are allowed.

It is disliked to say salaam to someone who is unable to respond back, like someone who is eating. [Raddul Muhtar 1:617] Since the people who are attending a lecture [bayan] are able to respond, it is not disliked to do so.

Only Allah knows best
