Iddah upon a person who committed Zina.

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Is there no rules on Iddah or waiting period

To do a new Nikkah with a new man because she had illegal intercourse with her ex-husband? Jazzakallah

Answer:

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

There is no ‘iddah (waiting period) due to her. She can get married to a new man.[1] She must repent sincerely and consistently for committing such a great act of sin.
