Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Can a woman correct the recitation of the imam during prayers

If they’re the only 2 people e.g. a husband and wife when praying and the husband miss his ayah.

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

Yes, the wife can correct her husband’s recitation during prayers.

According to the most correct opinion of Ahnaf, the voice of a woman is not awrah. So it doesn’t nullify the prayer. (¹)But if there is a non-mahram, then she should clap.
