Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah!

A person is employed in a company based in Australia. This company does not require them to work at the company office but allows them to work from home (it is an IT based job).

Ever since they have been employed with this company they have not had to come into the office. Now, can this person continue working with this company after moving overseas without informing his employer that he is no longer physically in Australia?

Answer:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh,

If the contract does not restrict him to live in a certain place, and moving does not affect his ability to carry out his duties, he may move without informing the employer.
