Is it necessary to divide 1/7th share of meat of Qurbani made of cow / buffallow into 3 portions and to give 1 portion of meat to poor

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
It is not necessary to divide the meat into three portions and to give one portion to the poor, rather it is a voluntary act that is rewarded by Allah Taa’la.[1]
And Allah SWT knows best.
