Would there be drugs in Jannat

Question

I have a question about Jannah, my cousin Ammar is a frequent consumer of marijuana. I have told him there is weed in heaven, so he has quit. Am I right? Will there be weed in Jannah?

Answer

The simple answer is I don’t know but I highly doubt it.

Yes we will get what we wish for in Jannah, as Allah tells us in the Quran “They will have in Jannah what their souls desire and what their eyes find pleasure in”(Quran Surah Zukhruf ayah 71 )

Also, we will get what we desire in Jannah even if we have no need of it in Jannah, as the prophet told us about how Allah (s.w.t.) will fulfil the desires of certain people in Jannah who wish to farm[1] or have children.[2]

However, we in Jannah will probably not wish for drugs. This is because the bad things of Jannah will be removed from our heart.

Allah tells us in the Quran, he will remove hatred and jealousy from our hearts so it is also likely we will not have any desire for drugs in Jannah, as Allah will remove all bad traits from us and purify us before we enter Jannah.

Only Allah Knows best.
