Question:

I am not sure if my prayer for istikhara was done corrected but the night after i prayed Istikhara i dreamed of a new born child and another dream of a little girl i know running towards me happy. does it have to do anything with Istikhara dream?

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

With regards to your question, it is not necessary to see a dream after doing Istikharah. After performing istikarah the person will (Insha Allah) get guidance from Allah and be inclined towards what is right. It is not necessary that it is seen in a dream or even as a vision while awake. The individual will just feel what is right and should then go on to do the task or make the decision. However, it is possible and it is tried and tested by our elders that dreams can be linked to istikhaarah.

The dream you experienced is a good sign of what you want to do.
