Was Abual Ala Maududi a right scholar or not? Give me detail about him.

Abul Ala Maududi was not formally an Alim hence there is no question of right or wrong. He admits that he does not enjoy the honour of being among the folk of Ulama, he is a middle man…….(Tarjuman Al-Quran 1355 Hijrah). “The modus operandi and views of Maududi is quite different from that of Salf Salihin. He has adopted such a way for his Jamah and for his new maslak which differs quietly from the holy Quran, Hadith and belief of Ahl sunnah al Jamah”. (Jamat-e-Islami Ka Dini Rukh, 31)
