Is namaz acceptable if one has a permanent tattoo and uses perfume with alcohol?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
One of my friends has a permanent tattoo designed on his arm. He is now very disappointed as he cannot get rid of it easily. However he is trying to get it removed, no matter whether it costs Rs. 50000/- or more. Can you tell us what should he do about it according to Shariah? He repents a lot about this thing. Is his namaz acceptable or not? Can you also tell us about using perfume which is manufactured by a small amount of alcohol? Can namaz be offered by applying that perfume?

Answer

(Fatwa: 2136/1699/B=1433)

(1) With the advice of doctors it should be removed in any possible way.
(2) If the alcohol is made of wine then the perfume in which it is mixed shall be impure and unlawful. It shall not be lawful to use it and offer salah wearing the cloth in which it has been applied. But if the alcohol is made of vegetables etc then it shall have no negative impact on salah.
