It is not shirk to hang the verses of the holy Quran on the house walls provided one does not consider them effective other than Allah. It is mentioned in Ahsanul Fatawa (8:23) “If there is no TV in the house or shop nor there are pictures, as well as respect is maintained and it is kept safe from dust then it is lawful to hang the Quranic verses on the walls.”
We are unaware of the book and its author which you mentioned; hence we are sorry to say anything about the authenticity of the contents of the book and its author. However we know that some Arab scholars are extremist in ruling shirk due to not understanding the verses and text of the holy Quran and Hadith and thus they term many non-shirk acts as shirk. As it is wrong not to consider any shirk act as shirk, in the same way it is also wrong to understand non-shirk thing as shirk. Hence one should avoid studying the books of such extremist people.
