Answer

(Fatwa: 597/869/N=1433)

(1) Al-Marw (without round ة) means: white bright stones which lights fire (i.e. Chaqmaq stone), and Al-Marwah (with round ة) is also a kind of stone. Allama Asmai said that mountain Marwah was named as Marwah because its stones are white and bright. So is mentioned in Taj Al-Uroos (39:520,521, published by Kuwait Govt.) In short, Marwah means: a white and bright stone which creates fire if struck with other stone. In Urdu such stone is called Chaqmaq.
(2) Yes, you can keep this name, it is lawful.
