What should the sisters do if their Shia father orders them to marry a Shia, but they wish to marry a Sunni?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have made effort to bring about 5 people from Iran to enter Sunni Islam. They are all sisters and they have some questions about their marriage. Their madhhab is Shafai. And all answers must be made on the premise that father is Shia, but still Muslim. What should the girls do, if her Shia father ordered them to marry a Shia? Are they forced to comply and what options do they have? And if the father does not allow them to marry any Sunni, but they wish to do so to protect their Iman and chastity, are they allowed to marry Sunni without their fathers permission and how can such marriage be done? If the father did not allow the marriage and is strongly against it, as he out of his ignorance thinks, Sunnis all hate Ali and he would not believe otherwise despite all assurances, what should the converted sister do?

What are the beliefs of that Shia boy, it is unknown. However, those new Muslim sisters should first make their father understand with wisdom and politeness. If he does not accept it then they can marry Muslim Sunni boys having true belief without the consent of their fathers. For more detail consult any Shafi’i scholar or institution.
