Is it permissible to make wudhu/bath with sea water?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalam-o-Alikum, Mufti sahib I want to know that the water of sea is pak or najs, because it is not flowing like other rivers, so I just want to know that is it correct to make wudhu or bath? jazakALLAH

Answer

(Fatwa: 998/938=B/1430)

The sea water is exceedingly maa-e-katheer (abundant water), such a water is considered as maa-e-jaari (flowing). In spite of not flowing it carries the ruling of the flowing rivers; therefore undoubtedly its water is tahir (clean and pure), one can perform wudhu and ghusl using the same. You should not fall in any doubt.
