Does the order passed by the Panchayat confirming the true values and traditions of Islam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Ulema Sahed of Deoband, Aaslam Alaikum. I am resident of Shillong and the Quraish Panchayat decides matters relating to mariage, divorce etc in a Shoora Meeting consisting of Alims and general public. If a girl marries outside the Biradri then the whole family is being boycotted from the Biradri, although the marriage is performed according to Islam values and traditions. But if a boy marries outside Biradri then there is no such boyoctt. According to the Panchayt members, old age Panchayat rules and regulations (unwritten) are more important than other Laws. When a family is being boyoctted then they have to undergo tremendous mental agony etc. Recently my sister got married to a boy who is a Doctor from other Biradri, order was passed without giving any opportunity to us of hearing by the Panhcayat in which Alims and learned people also participated for boyoctt of our family, wherein it was written that ” if the family members of the girl accepts that they have done wrong then the ban would be lifted ” they have not issued any Notice to us for such boycott. Please reply whether the order passed by the Panchayat confirms the true values and traditions of Islam, whereas a Muslim can marry a Muslim and Nikah is a Sunant of Prophet Muhammed (PBHU)

It is not allowed to boycott someone without any valid (Sharai) reason; rather it is a major sin. Marrying out of caste is not a valid reason. However, if the panchayat members tell any valid reason then you should write it to us.

Secondly, it is wajib to look into the reason of the panchayat members Islamically; especially the Ulama should review their decision of boycott.
