Some commentators of the holy Quran say that Shab-e-Bara’at (fifteenth night of Sha’ban) is mentioned in the holy Quran in the verse of Surah al-Dukhan: Here according to some commentators, the words ليلة مباركة imply for Shab-e-Bara’at while some say that it means Shab-e-Qadr (the night of Qadr, which is mostly in Ramadan). It is mentioned in Tafseer al-Ruh al-Ma’ani:
It has also been mentioned in Hadith books like Ibn Majah and al-Targhib O al-Tarhib etc.
