Answer

(Fatwa: 1153/60=D/1429)

A person gets closer and dearer to Allah Almighty when he follows the commandments of Allah like performing salah, keeping fast, distinguishing between lawful and unlawful things, doing good moralities and giving due rights to people etc. And, in order to act upon these commandments as well easily and having control on his self, one contacts for reforming himself a pious person who follows the Shariah. Bai’h (oath of allegiance) can also be done for strengthening this reformatory contact, but all things from the beginning to the end will be acceptable and authentic only when a man believes in Allah Almighty and His attributes, believes in Hadhrat Muhammad as Prophet and Messenger and believes in Qiyamah (doomsday). So, without believing in all these, it will be futile to carry out the commandments of Allah and do bai’h of any pious man for reforming himself. Therefore, you should try to understand Eiman first and must contact any righteous man or an Aalim for the same. يهديكم الله والسلام على من اتبع الهدى
