Is it permissible to live with a non-Muslim partner and alcoholic housemate?

assaslamualaikum… am a pg student in bangalore am living in a house with a non muslim partner , here the owner’s major income is interest( financer) and my house mate ( my friend ) is an alcoholic,he drinks regularly but in my absence.. is it allowed for me to continue living there, as my main intention of living there is to put a positive attitude in him, towards islam..( dawat by behavior and deeds) what shall i do?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1605/128/B=1430)

If you are confident that you can impress him, you are allowed to live therein with him. But, if this is not the case, you should avoid living with him lest you should also get involved in the sin.
