Is it religiously permissible to enter a church or a Jewish place of worship?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Q-Is it true that it is Makrooh Tahrimi to enter a church or a Jewish place of worship and other religions places since this is where the shayateen stay, this is according to Albahr Araiq for Ibn Nujaym, can we go in without a very strong overwhelming reason? Is it true that it is Makrooh Tahrimi?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1076/1076=M/1429)

Yes, it is right that going into church or a temple of Jews or any religion is makrooh tahrimi (undesirable to an extent of haram). One must avoid going to such places:

و فی الھندیۃ عن التتمۃ: یکرہ للمسلم الدخول فی البیعۃ والکنیسۃ، وانما یکرہ من حیث انہ مجمع الشیاطین لا من حیث انہ لیس لہ حق الدخول۔
