Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
A man dies leaving 2 sons, 3 daughters and a wife. The wife is not the mother of the 5 children, the surviving wife had no children from the decease husband. How should the deceased estate be divided according to Islam? Jazakallahu Khaira!

Answer

(Fatwa: 416/J)

After the due rights preceding the inheritance, the entire property of the dead person will be distributed in 8 shares; out of which the wife will get 1 share, each son will get 2 shares and each daughter will get 1 share.

1 wife:               1

2 sons:             4

3 daughters:      3
