Assalamu alaikum A masjid has no income. The muthawalli wants to pay the SALARY of Imam and Muezzin out of his Zakat money, without revealing to anyone that it is Zakat money. Can the muthawalli do so?

Assalamu alaikum A masjid has no income. The muthawalli wants to pay the SALARY of Imam and Muezzin out of his Zakat money, without revealing to anyone that it is Zakat money. Can the muthawalli do so?

Answer

(Fatwa: 711/551/H=1431)

 

No, you cannot do so. If you do so your zakah will not be paid, it would remain due.
