Assalamu alaikum, I use to work in a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) where my job was to give online technical assistance to customers with problems related to products like printers, ipods, TV, projectors and DJ. I use to resolve customers hardware/software problems online or replace the product if the hardware found to be faulty. One of the devices mentioned above is a DJ which is used in loading/listening songs. Was my income halaal because I use to assist customers to use a device that is used to listen songs? Now I am in a different process (same company) dealing with internet related problems. Furthermore the money I earned during that time was spent on my studies (hardware and networking). If my income was not halaal what about the qualifications I have earned out of those money and whether I can go for jobs on the basis of these qualifications?

Your previous earning will not termed as unlawful; since a machine used for listening songs can also be used for listening lawful things as well. The education acquired through that income is also alright, likewise it is lawful to do job on the basis of the education.
