Can Qurbani Khall money be used for Mosque expenses?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalam alaikum We used to give Qurbani Khall to Mosque which used the khall money for Madrasa, but now the Mutwallis deposit the money in the common Mosque fund which provides for salaries, maintenance, light bills, decorations of dargah uras to name a few. They say that Qurbani khall money can be used for Mosque expenses. Are they correct? 2. In which category do I search Fatwa ID 8245?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1590/1333=L/1429)

If the Qurbani skin is given in possession of the guardian of mosque, he can sell it and use the amount for the expenditures of the mosque, but using it for customs like urs etc is unlawful. It is to be noted that selling Qurbani skin directly for mosque expenses is not allowed, the amount must be given to the poor and needy who are entitled to receive zakah.
