Answer

(Fatwa: 422/351/B=1431)

Celebrating Eid Meelad al-nabi, making merry and preparing special dish on his birthday, all these acts neither are proved by the Quran and Hadith nor is its example found in the earlier periods Islam certified as reliable. The companions loved the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) very much but they never celebrated Eid Meelad. This is the invention of the Christians, we must not follow them.
