Does passing away in Ramadan guarantee entrance to Heaven? Can suffering still occur in the grave?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalamualykum. When someone passes away in the month of Ramadan, the gates of Heaven are open and the gates of hell are closed. Does this mean that person is going straight to Heaven?also, if someone passes away in Ramadan, can they experience suffering in the grave? Wassalaam

Answer

(Fatwa: 793/727=D/1429)

Muslims, who pass away in the month of Ramazan, although they are sinners, do not experience suffering in the grave, they are reprieved from it till the Day of Judgment. But on the Day of Judgement, they will be sent to paradise or hell after being judged as per their faith and good deeds.
