What is the meaning of the name “Baasil” and is it necessary to add “Mohammed” or “Ahmed” to the name?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My son’s name is Baasil, which as per my knowledge means brave, royal. Kindly confirm the meaning and also advice whether it is necessary to add Mohammed or Ahmed to his name?

Basil means: brave, bold and lion. We could not find its meaning as royal and famous in the dictionary. However the name Basil is correct, it is better to add Ahmad or Muhammad with it.
