Is praying without a rug valid in a room used by others with shoes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalam alaikum rahmatullah wa barakatuh, My name is Sameer and i am a Software Engineer in Pune. We work in an IT company and the there is no Masjid nearby hence we pray in the rest room provided by the company which is also used for meetings and conferences. My question 1. Is our Namaaz valid if we pray without a Namaaz rug as the room is also frequented by other people wearing shoes? Your soonest reply shall be appreciated.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1603/1604/M=1431)

The salah shall be valid without musalla (prayer rug) if the place where one intends to offer salah is pak (clean). People enter in rooms wearing shoes and sometime the shoes carry nijasah (impurity); hence, one should offer salah in neat and clean place.
