Is it permissible to use chewing tobacco in any form (e.g. cigarette smoking, chaini khaini)?

Chewing tobacco in any form (Example: Cigarette smoking, chaini khaini etc), is it Haram or gunah or halal? Please give answer with reference to the holy Quran and hadith?

Answer

(Fatwa: 619/619/M=1433)

If tobacco is injurious to body then its consumption is unlawful; otherwise it is allowable. And if the tobacco has bad smell or used as a fashion then it is makrooh.
