Is it possible to attribute a weak Hadith to Prophet Muhammad (SWA)?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Can we attribute a weak Hadith to Prophet Muhammad (SWA)?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1806/L=540/TL=1432)

One should not attribute a hadith directly to the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) about which one is sure that it is week or there is a doubt in its reliability i.e. one should not say that the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said. Rather it should be said that it has been narrated from the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عيله وسلم) or someone has narrated it from the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) or words similar to it. Week hadith should not be narrated with the affirmation form.
