قال في المراقي: والسنۃ في أخذہ أن تجعل خنصر یمینک أسفلہ والبنصر والسبابۃ فوقہ والإبھام أسفل رأسہ، کما رواہ ابن مسعود
i.e. the little finger of right hand should be placed under the miswak, the ring finger and index finger over it, while the thumb should be placed over the head of it.
