By the grace of almighty allah, I am living in the United States and persuing higher education here. I am in a state of confusion, whether, i can eat chicken and beef here, which, i dont think is Halaal. But as per the sayings in the quran and the sahee hadeeth, all things of Ehlea-Kitaab (people of the book) is jaayaz for you. So can i eat the non-veg (chicken & Beef) by saying bismillah. I have not yet eaten any meat (chicken & beef), due to the fear of my loosing the faith, and thinking its haram, without any evidence or proof. Please do let me know if it is permissible to eat.

The ?Ahl-e-Kitab? (people of the book i.e. Jews and Christians) are no true Ahl-e-Kitab now, they have generally become atheists; therefore it is unlawful to consume the animals slaughtered by them, one should avoid it.
