Asslamu Alykum, Is it right to stand up in respect, when a senior especially the director or chairman of your company walks into your room.

In case of standing up in respect, if the doctor or chairman feels proud and arrogant, then it is unlawful, and if it may cause self-esteem, then it is undesirable otherwise it is allowed. And yes, if he is coming from a journey, then it is desirable to stand up for his help.
قال إبن حجر العسقلاني عن أبى الوليد بن رشيد أن القيام على أربعة أوجه (1) محظور و هو أن يقع لمن يريد أن يقام إليه تكبرا و تعاظما على القائمين إليه (2) مكروه وهو أن يقع لمن لايتكبر ولا يتعاظم ولكن يخشى عليه أن يدخل نفسه سبب ذالك ما يحذر (3) جائز وهو أن يقع على البر والإكرام — (4) مندوب وهوأن يقوم لمن قدم من سفر — (فتح البارى كتاب الإستيذان باب قول النبى: قوموا إلى سيدكم)
