Assalamualaykum… myself nabil and i am 19 years old…i want to marry a girl, she is 2 years elder than me…also she lives in kuwait and me in india…i never saw her, just talked through text chat…i like her,she is really good and honest…i would like to know, can i marry to her though she is 2 years elder than me…i know it would be better if i would be elder than her or equal to her age…so what does the shariah says about it…is this nikah possible ??? plz answer me in detail…if possible… jazakallah khairan wa ahsanal jaza.

If both of you are kufu (perfect match and suited to each other according to Shariah) then you can marry provided the nikah is held in accordance with the norms and rules of Shariah. Being woman elder than man is no bar for nikah, but it is better for man to choose such a woman as his wife who is younger than him.
