Did I ruin my Umrah by slapping a shopkeeper in Haram?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Aslamoalaikum…last Ramadan i went for Umrah. After perforforming the Umrah i stayed in Herm for three days. During my shopping some of the (foriegn)shopkeepers were so rude and unfriendly.i ve just avoided them for the sake of ALLAH. But once i could nt control my temper and i have slaped one of them. then as usual other people involved and i came back to my hotel. since that day i felt so bad and regret what i have done in Harm. I want to ask, is my Umrah is acceptable or i ve just wasted it? Should i pay some kuffarah or some thing? please write me as soon as possible. Wassalam / Amer

(Fatwa: 224/195=D)

It is necessary to respect the haram and avoid every act that causes hurt/pain to anyone, especially in the pilgrimage of hajj or umrah. Wickedness and wrangling have been sternly prohibited. You should repent to Allah seeking His forgiveness and if possible try to excuse the person and get him pleased whether by giving him a gift. And, if it is not possible then give something in charity on behalf of him. There is no other kaffarah (expiation). If you are blessed to visit the haram again you should mind these things very carefully.
