I am 19 yrs old and the girl i like is 18yrs. we r in a lovng relationship from 1.5 years. we talk over phone and almost evry weekend we go on long drive in my car. i have just returned from 10 day students jama’at. those 10days were eyeopening days for me. now i realize dat i am a big sinner but thanks to Allah i never commited zina. And further i dont want to follow western trends anymore. i am trying my best to adopt the habits of our Prophet Muhammad (PBH) and i want an islamic solution to my this problem. should i break-up with the girl i love? i m ignoring her from last month and 2day she messaged me with lot of emotions which made me to cry. she loves me a lot and i love her too and we wanna marry after our studies but i am very confused what to do,? because i dont want to do the things which our religion never permits to do, while on the other hand i m afraid to break her heart, i can control my emotions but what about her? is there any way we can keep our relationship?

In Islam, it is not lawful to talk to a strange girl on phone or meet her rather it is severe sin. It is necessary to divert one’s eye as soon as it gets any strange woman otherwise one shall be sinful. Hence, you should at once get separated from that girl and break off your connection and seek Allah’s forgiveness on your sin with sincerity. However, if nikah is done, then it shall be lawful for you to talk to her on phone and meet her though rukhsati is done later. Before nikah all these acts are unlawful and it is necessary to avoid them. Have courage; try to make your hereafter good while doing tauba and istighfar.
