According to the Holy Quran, it is allowed for Muslim men to marry the women of Ahl-e-Kitab i.e. Jews believing in Hadhrat Musa and Christians believing in Hadhrat Eisa (Be peace upon them) and follow the heavenly religion brought by them. But, the Jews and Christians of today do not believe in the Heavenly religions, instead they have chosen to follow atheism, they are Jews and Christians by name only, but in fact they are no longer Ahl-e-Kitab; therefore it is not allowed to marry the women of Ahl-e-Kitab of this age. The ruling of the Quran is about the Ahl-e-Kitab who believed in Hadhrat Musa and Hadhrat Eisa (peace be upon them). For details, you can study Mariful Quran 3:45-50.
