Does Shariah permit wearing tawiz, according to the hadith narrated by Maulana Jarjish in Bukhari?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
What does Shariah say about wearing tawiz? I have heard one of the lectures of Maulana Jarjish in which he narrated one hadith from Bukhari that whoever does wear tawiz and dies in that condition will not be entered in paradise. Please kindly clear out my doubt regarding this.

Such tawiz (amulet) which contains shirkiya words and the person who is wearing it considers it effective i.e. he holds the belief that he would recover by these shirkiya words and his desire shall come to an end, then it was said regarding such person that he shall not enter paradise. But the tawizs which carry the verses of the holy Quran or the words of hadith and dua and the person who wears it does not consider it effective in itself rather considers only Allah to be effective then wearing such tawiz is lawful as per the Shariah. It is proved from hadith and Sahaba. It has been explained in detail in Tohfah al-Ahwazi, the commentary of Tirmidhi.
