What should I do if my dad pressures me to cut my beard, which is wajib and sunnah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My question is that I know that trimming the beard less than fist length is haram but my dad pressures me to cut the beard and maintain it less than fist length. As my beard is now only growing and yet I do not get it fist length. So what should I do? Can I disobey my dad because beard is wajib and it is the sunnah of my Prophet Muhammad (SAW) but if I do not cut the beard my dad gets sad and my dad tortures me too. So what should I do? Please reply.

It seems that your father is unaware of the teachings of the holy Quran and Hadith. Had he been aware of it he would not said this. As far as the matter of your father’s respect, honour and status is concerned, he shall be obeyed in each lawful matter, but the order of mother and father shall not be accepted in such works which lead towards the disobedience Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
لا طاعة لمخلوق فى معصية الخالق.
A work in which one has to disobey Allah there it is not lawful to obey any salve.
