Is it true that I cannot go on the Haj if I have a loan against me?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My question is related to any kind of bank loan and haj. Is it true that as long as I have any kind of loan against me I can not go for the Haj.

Answer

(Fatwa: 482/482/M=1432)

It is not right to take interest-based loan from the bank without exigent need. If you have taken loan unknowingly, it is better to pay the debt before going to hajj. If it is not demanded urgently and you left for hajj being sure that you would pay it after returning from hajj, then your hajj will definitely be valid.
