Is wudhu & namaaz valid for a person with a weak bladder leaking urine?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My mother is suffering from a bladder problem. She can’t hold her wudhu because she has a weak bladder, so drops of urination leak. When she does wudhu, because of the movement, drops of urine leak. Is her wudhu still valid? If she does her wudhu successfully, and then she has drops of urine coming out during namaaz, is her namaaz valid? Also when praying quraan, can she still pray whilst she is continuously having drops of urine coming out? Some Mufti’s say she is ma’zoor. Could you explain this fatwa as breifly as possible. Jazakallah.

Answer

(Fatwa: 804/670=D/1430)

Your mother will be considered ma?zoor (excused) if she spends full time of a salah in a condition that the drops do not stop and she does not find a free time in which she can perform wudhu and fardh salah. Then, it is sufficient for her to perform wudhu in one salah time and perform as much salah (whether obligatory and optional) and tilawah she wants. But this wudhu will be nullified when the time of next salah will come in. Then, she will have to perform fresh wudhu. If your mother is not in a condition mentioned above, so she should wait until the leakage of drops stops.
