Is the banking service at State Bank of India Islamic?

Dear Sir, I want to know that The service in bank is islamic or not?i have a call letter from state bank of india for the post of Assistant Manager (Electrical Engineering). In this post my job profile is totally related to electrical such as erection & commissioing of electrical items, building construcion of SBI, etc. Can i join this Company? Please reply soon Thanking You

(Fatwa: 1556/1225/B=1431)

If your job is related to only electrical equipments and the building of bank and you are not involved in writing or checking the interest based calculations, then you are allowed to work in the bank.
