(Fatwa: 943/754/B=1431)
Islam has not entrusted the responsibility of Dawah and Tableegh to women. It is men who are entrusted with it; they should learn religion and teach their women. The companions of the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) who were the supreme preacher they did not send women for preaching. Almighty Allah has ordered women to stay in their homes.
وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ .[الأحزاب : 33]
Women are allowed to go out of their homes only in severe compulsion and need. It is the age of fitnah (evil), full caution should be undertaken. For learning and teaching religion, women should arrange ijtima (meeting) once in a week in some house and discuss therein religious teachings. It will help create religious environment. Going in Tableegh leaving 1-year child amounts to injustice with the child, he should be given necessary care and nourishment. It is not necessary to go in chillah (forty days), only learning religion is necessary.
